Let me sum up.

Whew. It's been such a long time since I last posted, so let me sum up. I do have an actual finished object(s) to share:

fetching lori

Pattern: Fetching by by Cheryl Niamath
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran, color 300008
Mods: worked regular bind off instead of picot

These mitts were a Christmas gift for Lori, and doesn't she look just fetching in them? Hurricane Knitters, you will be glad to know that, true to my obsessive-compulsive nature, I had to rip out the first finished mitt and restart them so that the hand opening was bound off more tightly.

Speaking of Christmas, Santa was very good to me this year. I got some new pieces of my favorite cookware, some fabulous new cookbooks, and lots of other beautiful things that are too numerous to list here. We were able to spend time with both sides of our family and had a wonderful, if not exhausting, day all around. I am so lucky!

Why else am I lucky? There's this:

That was wrapped around this(!):

she is so bored of hearing me go on and on about this thing

Isn't she just lovely? Thankfully, since I've never spun before, the wheel included a video on how to set up your wheel, and how to start spinning. Note the confused look on my face as I give the wheel a whirl and watch the video:

Oh dear. I think I am going to need some more practice!

You'll be fine! Relax and let the wheel do the work. Try drawing out your spin a bit more...don't hold it so close to the wheel! Does that make sense? Lori's Fetching mitts look awesome...and I KNEW you would rip them back! Heehee. Happy new year! (Oh...and what cookbooks??! Do tell!!)

Not confused. Just contemplative! And Stella looks soooo inspired by that wheel. HA! Very pretty. I can see why you liked it so much! You'll be an expert in no time. Oh, and I am SO not surprised you ripped out the first Fetching. OCD? Nah. Just a perfectionist! :-D

Oooh, the wheel is so pretty! I'm very impressed with what you've done so far, and I'm sure that with some more practice you'll be a pro in no time. (And then you can teach me!)

Your new wheel is beautiful! I do not sping (yet) but I'm sure you will pick it up in now time. I LOVE the fetching pattern and have made three pair myself. Teaching my bonus daughter to make a pair too. Merry (late) Christmas and Happy New Year!

Oh - and Lady E has been taking a rest. I plan to pick her back up tonight or tomorrow. I hope I didn't forget everything!
